Unser Team ist fest davon überzeugt, dass jeder Mensch eine faire Chance im Leben verdient.

Wir sind ein hochmotiviertes deutsch-ghanaisches Team, mit Unterstützung aus Südafrika, dem Vereinigten Königreich, den Niederlanden und Österreich.
Wir glauben fest an das, was wir tun. Über Grenzen hinweg und doch gemeinsam zu arbeiten, ist unsere Normalität. Wir lieben es zu experimentieren, neue Wege auszuprobieren und haben keine Angst davor, auch einmal Fehler zu machen. Wir sehen sie als Chance zu lernen und gemeinsam zu wachsen. Außerdem spielen Spaß und Motivation, aber auch Zuverlässigkeit und Engagement eine wichtige Rolle in unserer täglichen Arbeit.

Unsere Gründungsgeschichte

Unser Beginn in 2006

Schon lange vor der eigentlichen Gründung der Initiative, war die Idee zu helfen, stets in den Köpfen von Anna und Amin Zaaki präsent. Aus privaten Mitteln unterstützten sie Menschen in Ghana, der Heimat von Amin. Immer öfter wurden sie dabei auch von Familie und Freunden finanziell unterstützt. Diese großzügige Unterstützung motivierte die sieben Gründungsmitglieder Anfang 2006 dazu, den Traum zur Wirklichkeit werden zu lassen. Unter dem damaligen Namen “Nima e.V.” wurde der Verein offiziell gegründet und als gemeinnützig anerkannt.

Unser Name

Amin(u) bedeutet „vertrauenswürdig“. Gleichzeitig ist es der ghanaische Rufname unseres Gründers Amin Zaaki, der nicht nur, aber auch, wegen seiner ghanaischen Herkunft eine tragende Rolle für unsere Arbeit spielt.
Unser ursprüngliche Name „Nima“ (ein Stadtteil von Accra) ist rückwärts gelesen „Amin“. Mit einem „u“ versehen, welches in Ghana zur Verniedlichung von Namen benutzt wird, sind wir bei „Aminu“. So steht der Name einerseits für etwas ganz Neues und andererseits für etwas Altvertrautes.
